Allendale
There are approximately 2,600 students enrolled in the district, comprised of a high school, middle school, and three elementary schools, including an Early Childhood Development Center.
Coopersville
The Coopersville Area Public School District operates three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school serving a student population of 2,600. The schools are all situated on one campus in the center of this community situated on the eastern edge of Ottawa County. The district has developed an early childhood program that incorporates a focus on pre-school as well as before-and-after school daycare programs. The high school houses outstanding facilities for art, music, theater, athletics, industrial arts, and technology. The district provides a one-to-one student technology initiative for students in grades 6-12.
Grand Haven
Grand Haven is known for its beautiful beaches and lakefront lifestyle. The Grand Haven Public School District has earned national recognition for excellence in academics, athletics and the arts. The district offers serves students from preschool through 12th grade, with an emphasis on Advanced Placement and college-level courses in high school.
Hamilton
The Hamilton school district boasts that it’s big enough to offer an array of exceptional programming and yet small enough to give students and families a personal experience. There is a strong performing arts program, business courses in retail and financial planning, and many athletic programs. The district features four elementary schools, a middle and high school, plus a virtual option.
Holland
This lakeshore school district offers Transitional Kindergarten, K-8 STEM programming, a 4th-5th Grade Challenge Program; Middle and High School Honors, AP and Robotics opportunities; a three-year introduction to engineering; and special education programming. The district is comprised of three neighborhood elementary schools, a 6th-8th grade middle school campus, and three high school options: Holland High, Holland Early College — where students can earn an Associate’s Degree or 62 transferable college credits — and Holland Virtual Tech, a credit recovery high school in a business center learning environment. Students have the opportunity to engage in nearly 40 middle and high school boys and girls sports teams and nationally recognized performing arts programs.
Hudsonville
The Hudsonville School District is the largest district in Ottawa County, covering approximately 80 square miles with some 6,800 students enrolled. It’s large enough to offer a comprehensive academic program and a wide variety of extracurricular activities, while still small enough to provide individual attention and support for students. The district is comprised of a high school, freshman campus, two Middle Schools, eight Elementary Schools, and an Early Childhood Center.
Jenison
The Jenison School District offers a long list of unique experiences for students, including an Innovation Academy, award-winning fine arts programs, Spanish Immersion, STEM curriculum, university partnerships and Robotics. There are seven elementary schools in the district, including an Early Childhood Center, plus a middle and senior high school.
Saugatuck
This lakeshore district features on elementary school and a building that houses the middle and high schools. Students in grades 6-8 occupy a separate wing in the building. There are more than 800 students enrolled in the district.
Spring Lake
This lakeshore school district serves children and adults throughout the Tri-Cities area of Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, and Grand Haven.
West Ottawa
West Ottawa Public Schools spans 73 square miles and features 12 schools. The district was recently ranked by Niche.com as the Best Public School District in Ottawa County and has been a recipient of U.S. News and World Report “Best High Schools” Silver Award for 7 consecutive years. Students have access to renowned vocal, instrumental, performing and visual arts opportunities as well as excellent athletic programs.
Zeeland
The Zeeland Public School district covers 94 square miles, encompassing the city of Zeeland, a portion of the city of Holland, and eight rural townships in Ottawa and Allegan counties. There are more than 6,000 students enrolled in their K-12 programs. The district includes two high schools, two middle schools, and six elementary schools, plus an Early Childhood Center, a year-round K-8 multi-age school, Spanish Immersion, elementary gifted and talented, an alternative high school program, and various online program options.
